First developed in the 1960s, the Carleton Heights neighbourhood boasts spacious lots and mature trees. Here, Novera Homes developed a generous two-storey family home with 3,400 square feet of living space on the first and second floors and a 2,000-square-foot basement. Working with Black Line Urban Design, the team designed a well-appointed home with a classic exterior of grey stone and oversized windows that allow natural light to stream in. Inside, the tone is distinctly contemporary, with hardwood floors and custom cabinetry and trim throughout. The basement level incorporates a large family room, a full bathroom, kitchen, second laundry room, and plenty of storage. Knowing the busy family would make full use of this level, Novera Homes made the basement feel both airy and cozy, with nine-foot ceilings and radiant floor heating. Outside, easy-to-maintain landscaping sees interlocking brick and stone flowerbeds in the front and back. The backyard is a true oasis, with a beautiful swimming pool that the family can access from the main living room, study, and main-level master bedroom.
